About

Zion Mountain Ranch sits on a working ranch just outside Zion National Park, where a live buffalo herd grazes in the distance and the canyon walls turn red at sunset. The cabins are built from solid wood, smell like a proper mountain retreat, and are quiet enough that you'll forget the highway exists. It's the kind of place that makes a long drive from Las Vegas feel completely worth it.

The ranch animals are a genuine draw. Guests regularly spend time with the horses, ponies, chickens, ducks, donkeys, and the ranch's two Great Pyrenees dogs (Rex and Emerald, apparently very pettable). The bison herd adds something you don't find at most lodges. Trail rides are available if you want to get out on horseback.

The cabins are well-appointed and built for comfort. Everything is solid, clean, and well-insulated. Couples celebrating anniversaries book here regularly, which tells you something about the overall experience. The on-site grill handles dinner so you don't have to drive anywhere after a long day in the park.

Zion is the obvious anchor for a stay here, but the ranch is also a reasonable base for reaching Bryce Canyon National Park, about 90 minutes north. If you're road-tripping through southern Utah's canyon country and want something more memorable than a standard hotel room, Zion Mountain Ranch is worth serious consideration.

My wife and I had an unforgetable stay at Zion Mountain Ranch. The place is very quiet and surounded by meadows where bisons graze. It sure is perfect to relax after a day hiking in Zion National Park. We especially enjoyed the presence of the dogs and chickens wandering freely on the Ranch. We had a great experience riding horses at sunrise thanks to Chaney our guide. I even got to practice my lasso skills with Connor. Every single member of the staff was super friendly and helpful. The cabins were really nice and clean. We especially enjoyed the view from our balcony. We dined and had breakfast every day at the restaurant. The food is great. You can taste the quality of the ingredients they use. The bison ribeye is definitely worth it. We hope to stay at the Ranch again next time we are in the USA.

Fabulous place. Really authentic experience. Lodge was comfortable and sitting on the deck with a beer was great. Went for a horse ride into the prairie with wrangler Karl, which was fabulous and later went out on a trailer and fed the Bison!! Make sure the vegetables are cooked properly in the restaurant.

Beautiful setting, great restaurant. A French woman also works there if you have trouble with English.

We had a wonderful experience. The cabin was cozy and quiet. The ranch was darling and it was so fun to interact with the animals. We’ll definitely be back.
