The Cottages at Bryce Canyon

Private cottages, 11 miles from the park, zero shared walls

(20)
Tropic, UT

About

The Cottages at Bryce Canyon are standalone studio-style units on South Main Street in Tropic, about 11 miles east of the Bryce Canyon National Park entrance. Each cottage is its own separate building, set back from the highway, which keeps things quiet — a genuine rarity for lodging this close to the park.

Rooms and Setup

The studio cottages are designed for self-sufficient stays. Each unit includes a king memory foam bed, a large smart TV, and a kitchenette with a sink, microwave, dishwasher, and mini fridge with separate freezer. Bathrooms are spacious and include a wall heater. Check-in is fully contactless — you receive your room number and door code by email before arrival, so there is no front desk interaction required.

Amenities

  • Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi included
  • Individual cottage buildings with no shared walls
  • Quiet location away from highway noise
  • Views of the red cliffs surrounding Tropic

Location

Tropic puts you roughly 11 miles from the park entrance via UT-12, which means you can make early-morning drives to Bryce Point or Sunrise Point without leaving until just before dawn. Kodachrome Basin State Park is also about 20 minutes south. The town has a few restaurants and a small market, so you are not entirely dependent on your kitchenette for meals.

Very clean! There's a microwave and refrigerator. There are two luggage racks, which is very thoughtful. The bathroom has a heater, hand soap and lotion, and plenty of absorbent mats. The space is large, perfect for two people. It's very quiet at night, and the neighborhood is very safe. Note that some windows aren't locked; it's recommended to lock them yourself after check-in! And the pizza across the street is delicious!

Great spot with responsive host. Quiet little town within. 20 minutes of Bryce Canyon with a couple of good restaurants in walking distance. Room is clean and modern. Kitchen is small and limited to a dorm refrigerator and a small microwave but that was not an issue for us. I would definitely stay here again!

Really a 4.5 for me. The Cottage and town were both cozy and quiet. The bed was comfortable, I really want the same mattress topper they used. Everything was clean. Only downside was the check in portion. The only email I received was that there would be instructions on their front office door when I arrived. When I got there, unfortunately there were no instructions. Luckily a quick phone call the person said I should've received a different email(i triple checked, i didnt), but they were able to get me into my room no problem. Super close to Bryce canyon along with the only good food options within 30 miles right across the street. All that to say, if I make my way out to Bryce Canyon NP again I will 100% stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay and the cottage was very clean, spacious and a very nice bathroom. Was happy to see they are ADA accessible too. Definitely will be back.

We were blown away at this gem of a cabin in Tropic! The place looks brand new, it was so clean and comfortable. Quiet, private, short walks to everything in town, and just a short drive to Bryce. Will recommend!
