About

Red Ledges Inn sits on Main Street in Tropic, a small town about seven miles east of Bryce Canyon's entrance. Also known as Americas Best Value Inn and Suites — Bryce Canyon, it's a practical, budget-minded base for park visitors who want more room options and town access than you get staying inside the gateway corridor.

Rooms and Amenities

The property has 65 rooms with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. Standard guest rooms include coffee makers, hair dryers, and satellite TV with HBO. Free parking is available for all guests. A fireplace in the lobby adds a bit of warmth on cool southern-Utah evenings. On-site laundry facilities are a practical bonus for multi-night stays or longer road trips.

Dining and Breakfast

The inn has an on-site restaurant, which reduces the need to drive for every meal. Continental breakfast is offered from April through October — note that it is not available November through March, so winter visitors should plan accordingly. Tropic itself has a handful of additional dining options within easy walking or driving distance.

Location and Getting Around

Tropic's position on UT-12 puts you roughly a ten-minute drive from the park entrance and close to the Bryce Canyon shuttle system in summer. The town also sits near the edge of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, which makes it a reasonable staging point if your itinerary combines both parks. Reviews are mixed overall, but repeat visitors tend to cite the price-to-location ratio as the main draw.

Room was clean. Not overly inviting or comfortable. Ice machine broken. Fair continental breakfast. Very disappointed to see nothing but styrofoam cups and bowls and individual plastic shampoos. Not environmentally conscious.

Very old and run down. Never walked barefoot in the room. Shower did not drain. Breakfast was toast, bagel, coffee. There is a rooster that lives across the street!! Great location to the park.

Stayed here for one night while travelling to different places in the US. Certain areas of the property could definitely use a good clean. However, the room we were allocated was clean and acceptable for a nights stay. Breakfast consisted of cereal and toast, but not much else. Girl on reception at check-in was polite. Restaurant next door was closed so we couldn't have dinner and having been driving most of the day, we were reluctant to take the car out again to find somewhere to eat. I definitely wouldn't stay here again unless there were major improvements.

This hotel was horrible. The carpet was filthy dirty! I was so grossed out by the carpet, I refused to walk without my shoes. The bathroom sink was clogged! Someone needs to call the Bryce board of health on this hotel!

This review is for the Bryce Countryside Residence at 41 Bryce Way. It is (poorly) managed by Red Ledges. We checked in at Red Ledges after unsuccessfully trying to call the listed property phone number to get check in instructions. No one answered the phone and the mailbox was full so I was unable to leave a message. I was finally able to chat with someone over email through Expedia to get check in details. That directed me to Red Ledges. We had a lot of issues with the property. The heater did not work. I had a hard time sleeping because the house was so cold and the windows were drafty. The house had an unpleasant smell and there were evidence of mice. The laundry room was full of cobwebs. The kitchen was poorly stocked. There was a working oven but only one tiny baking dish(it’s supposed to house 12 and we only had 7 and there were not enough cook ware). There was a dishwasher but no dishwasher detergent. There were no trash bags and no way to change out the trash cans. There was a washer and dryer but no laundry detergent. We ended up buying extra clothes at Ruby’s just to stay warm. Which by the way would have cost almost double the cost of this home and it would have been worth it. We would have been better off camping than staying here. We went to the Red Ledges office to talk about our concerns and no one was there. The lights were off and the door was locked. Same thing at check out time too. The photos show the dirty surfaces, cobwebs, unfinished flooring, and the thermostat.
