Ofland Escalante

Retro RV resort with a drive-in movie theater featuring 1960s convertibles, with a snack shack.

Escalante, UT

About

Ofland Escalante sits on Highway 12 at the edge of Escalante, positioned between Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef with Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument essentially at the front door. The property opened in 2021 on the site of an old RV park and drive-in movie theater — both nods to the original are still part of the experience — and was rebranded Ofland in 2023 when new owners expanded the cabin inventory.

Accommodations

Three lodging types: 10 custom Airstreams, 23 modern cabins, and 60 RV campsites with full hookups. The cabins lean contemporary; the Airstreams have a retro-cool edge. All options come with the expected resort-grade amenities. The standout is the drive-in theater, where guests watch films from inside nine classic 1960s convertibles parked permanently on-site — it's the detail that sets Ofland apart from other glamping operations in southern Utah.

Resort Amenities

A 2,000-square-foot communal clubhouse and bathhouse anchors the property. Add a general store, resort pool and spa-quality hot tub, private outdoor showers for certain sites, and fire pits with complimentary s'mores in the evening. An on-site Tesla Supercharger is a practical plus for EV drivers on the Highway 12 corridor. If you're base-camping for canyoneering into Grand Staircase or day-tripping to Bryce Canyon (about 65 miles west), this is the most-amenity-rich option in the Escalante area. Book well ahead for spring and fall peak seasons.

WOW! What a cool place. We stayed for two nights and it was just dreamy. The best part... our dogs were super welcomed. They could come with us anywhere on the property. The staff was very kind, the spaces were all super clean, and the outside shower was magic. The drive in movies every night were a hit. Highly recommend!!!!

Okay this place is awesome. It's a vibe. A style. It's not just a hotel or a camp site, it's somewhere in between, yet it elevates itself above both. I visited in early October and the weather was perfect. Full moon hanging in the sky. When I got in I was delighted at everything I saw-- tiny cabins, deluxe cabins, airstreams, a food truck, a bathhouse, a covered and heated commons area, pool & hot tub, and a drive in theater with old classic cars. But beyond that, it's more. More than the sum of its parts. Like I said, it's a vibe. Extras were a bit pricy, yes, but you pay for what you get. And I gladly paid the price for an experience. And besides, compared to what you're going to pay for groceries and food in Escalante, it's not really that bad. It's a tourist town, so you pay tourist prices for things. Why stay at a hotel when you can have an experience? Ofland isn't just a place to sleep, but a place to relax and enjoy yourself. A place to make a memory or two. A place to vibe. They have so many fun things here. A pool and hot tub, a drive in theater with classic cars as seating, a good food truck, all the amenities. The bathrooms were like spa level clean and fancy. The mini cabin I stayed in was clean and homey. I would and will go again. If you're on the fence, give it a shot. You wont be disappointed. The only bad thing was that I couldn't stay longer.
