Historic Smith Hotel Bed and Breakfast
Antiques-filled, cozy rooms in a B&B housed in a historic hotel, with gardens & decks.
About
The Historic Smith Hotel Bed and Breakfast is a 1927 building on Main Street in Glendale, a small Long Valley town on US-89 between Zion and Bryce Canyon. Glendale sits about 20 miles from Zion's east entrance and roughly 47 miles from Bryce Canyon, making it a practical overnight stop for travelers working the Zion–Bryce corridor — or a quieter alternative to staying inside either park gateway.
The Property
Current hosts Rochelle and Bunny have operated the inn since 1998. The rooms are filled with antique furnishings, many of them family heirlooms; bedframes, headboards, and tables throughout the building were handcrafted by a family member, which gives the interior a more personal character than a typical antiques-themed inn. Each room has a private bathroom. Gardens and deck areas outside provide places to sit away from the highway.
Breakfast and Practicalities
A complimentary breakfast featuring local cuisine is served daily. Free Wi-Fi is available in common areas. The inn's hosts are knowledgeable about the surrounding region — Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Zion's Kolob Canyons section, and Bryce Canyon are all within a day's drive, and local advice on less-traveled routes in the area is part of what repeat guests mention.
- Located at 295 N Main St, Glendale — directly on US-89, easy highway access heading either direction
- Glendale is a small community with limited other services; the inn is effectively self-contained for dinner needs, so plan accordingly
- A quiet alternative to busier gateway towns like Springdale or Bryce Canyon City
