Panguitch, UT

About

Color Country Motel is a no-frills property at the north end of Panguitch's Main Street, about 30 minutes from Bryce Canyon National Park. It's a straightforward budget stop — the kind of place where the room is clean, the price is reasonable, and you're there to sleep before an early start at the park.

Rooms

The motel offers standard queen and double-queen configurations along with family rooms that include a Jack-and-Jill bathroom arrangement, making them workable for families who need a bit of separation. All rooms include a microwave, refrigerator, cable TV, hairdryer, and free Wi-Fi. Climate control is in-room. Private bathrooms are standard. The setup is utilitarian but covers what most hikers and road-trippers actually need after a long day outdoors.

Property and Location

Free parking is available on site — relevant if you're towing a trailer or driving a larger vehicle, which is common in this corridor. Vending machines on the property handle late-night snack needs. At 526 N Main Street, Color Country is walkable to Panguitch's restaurants and grocery options, which matters if you want to grab supplies without moving the car. The drive south to the Bryce Canyon entrance is approximately 30 minutes on US-89.

Practical Notes

Panguitch is the main service town between Bryce Canyon and I-15, so budget lodging here fills up fast in peak summer season (June–August). Book ahead if you're arriving on a weekend. Color Country is listed on major booking platforms and room rates have been seen starting in the $59 range, making it one of the more accessible price points in the immediate Bryce gateway area.

I only dealt with the young lady. She pleasant and helpful. The room looked clean but the corners had small pieces. The bathroom floor had not been cleaned. It looked like just the center was mopped. The toilet seat was broken on one side. There was no tissue. Cobwebs were thick in several corners on the ceiling.

Rooms were not clean; cob webs, floors in bathroom were not the best.the faucet handle was broken. No extra toilet paper, no tissues. Drawers were broken. The front desk was helpful and kind, ice machine was good air conditioning worked good

Not recommended! €75 for one night was definitely too much for this room. There are better options for the price. Sure, you can't expect much from a 3-star hotel, but a minimum level of cleanliness should be expected! If I could, I'd give it 0 stars. The room was old, the furniture was worn, you could see the dirt on the floor, and it wasn't exactly clean in general. There were old coffee stains by the coffee machine, and an extremely strong smell that didn't go away even after leaving the bathroom door and window open for hours. It smelled of cheap air freshener and stale smoke (even though it was a non-smoking room). The other large window couldn't be opened at all. Some of the towels had yellow stains, and the curtains had several tears. The TV only worked with one channel, even though there was a long list of channels available. The remote control only responded to the volume; changing channels was impossible. And it would have been really nice if the motel, including the rooms, had looked like the pictures online. Instead, upon our arrival we found a neglected and unkempt facility.

The rooms were clean. The staff was very accommodating with a large party. Upgraded, so we can have 2 beds. The beds were comfy. The rooms were spacious.
