About

Canyon Country Lodge is a newer, well-appointed hotel on the east end of Escalante along UT-12, the Scenic Byway that connects Bryce Canyon to Capitol Reef. It's a solid step up from the budget motels that dominate this corridor — 28 rooms, a heated indoor pool, and an on-site restaurant put it in a different category for this part of southern Utah. Bryce Canyon's entrance is about 40 miles west; Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument's most popular trailheads are practically at the doorstep.

Rooms

All 28 rooms offer either a king bed with sofa sleeper or two queen beds. Each includes a mini-fridge, microwave, Smart TV, soundproofed windows, and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi. The property is relatively new, so condition and furnishings are current. Check-in starts at 3:30 PM.

Amenities

  • Heated indoor pool and hot tub — rare in this part of the corridor
  • Fitness center and guest laundry
  • Outdoor lounge area with fire pit
  • Electric vehicle charging stations and free onsite parking
  • Complimentary breakfast served daily

Dining

The on-site Canyon Grill serves dinner Tuesday through Saturday, 5:30–9:30 PM — a real convenience given Escalante's limited restaurant options. For day-trippers headed into the monument, the free breakfast gets you out the door early, which matters on trails like Coyote Gulch where parking fills by mid-morning.

Accepts Credit Cards

Fantastic place to stay. Great location for what we wanted to do. Clean and quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a plus. No elevator but the stairs were easily managed. Highly recommend!

This was an amazing place to stay up for the night. Checked in a little early in order to take a nap before going back out for some hikes. A recommendation to go to Outfitters for food was amazing. The pool area was fantastic. I would come back here to stay anytime I’m in town. The room was spacious and cozy. Well worth the cost of the room.
