Horses at the fence, shade trees overhead, and clean facilities halfway between two iconic parks.
Bryce Zion Campground sits in Glendale, Utah, right along the corridor between Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park. Both parks are about an hour away, which makes this a practical base camp if you're working through southern Utah and don't want to pay peak prices closer to either entrance. The drive in either direction is scenic enough that the distance doesn't sting.
The vibe here is genuinely old-school. Shade trees, open fields, horses wandering the property. Kids tend to lose their minds over the horses (in the best way). Guests have mentioned waking up to find them waiting at the fence each morning, which is the kind of thing that makes a trip memorable for the right crowd.
Facilities are solid for the price. The bathrooms include showers with hot water, and multiple guests have called them clean and well-kept. There's also a pool on-site, which earns serious points after a long day on the trail. Cabin rentals are available if you want something more than a tent pad, and they've worked out well for small groups.
The campground has also come through for travelers in a pinch. If your reservation at another park falls through last minute, these folks have a track record of making room. That kind of flexibility matters when you're deep into a road trip and your plans unravel. For bryce canyon lodging on a budget, with a little character thrown in, this one's worth a look.

We picked this campground for it's location between Zion and Bryce NP and it worked out great. We were able to stay 5 nights and see both parks. The campground was very quiet. The horse visits in the morning were nice and we didn't have any bad horse smell at all! The highlight for me was the bathrooms. They were immaculate. Clean, cool and no bugs! I could actually spread my stuff on the counter and not worry. The showers were hot and clean. The lady in the office was very helpful to my husband setting us up with a path to Moab that wouldn't send us over a cliff! Would recommend and come back here! Thank you!

This is a very nice campground. The staff is very friendly and the site I had was very shady. It’s located right next to US Highway 89 so there is a little road noise. Not too bad. The restrooms are very clean. I will definitely camp here again.

This campground gave you that mom and pop quaint campground. Lots of shade trees, horses roaming, very quiet. Backdrop gorgeous. Super friendly, bathrooms clean and nicely maintained. Had Amazon packages delivered right to our door. The one complaint is they need to maintain the sites better... barely had room for our stairs to come down. Wider level area. But a good choice, conveniently located between Bryce and Zion... glad we camped there.
