About

Bryce Valley Lodging is a small cabin property on Main Street in Tropic, Utah, about 15 minutes by car from Bryce Canyon National Park's entrance. Tropic sits just east of the park on the other side of the plateau, which means slightly longer drive times than staying in Bryce Canyon City but a more relaxed, small-town setting and generally lower prices.

Cabins and Amenities

The property offers 13 standalone cabins, each soundproofed and air-conditioned. All units include a patio, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and complimentary bottled water. Bathrooms come with either a bathtub or shower, toiletries, and a hair dryer. Free Wi-Fi and free self-parking are provided. BBQ grills are available on the grounds, and daily housekeeping is included.

Setting and Surroundings

The log cabin aesthetic fits the landscape — Tropic's Main Street has a handful of local restaurants and shops, and the surrounding valley offers open views of the red rock terrain that defines this stretch of southern Utah. Zion National Park is roughly 77 miles to the southwest, making Bryce Valley Lodging a workable stop on a multi-park itinerary if you're routing through Tropic on Scenic Byway 12.

Who It Suits

Travelers who want private cabin-style lodging rather than a standard motel room, at a price point below the larger resort properties near the park. It works for couples and small families. Book ahead in summer, as inventory is limited at 13 cabins and demand in Tropic peaks from May through September.

We booked this place last minute because of the weather...we were originally camping in Bryce Canyon NP. We were thankful to have the option of being inside during 40mph wind gusts and heavy sideways rain and snow. The staff were friendly and the check in process was easy. The room was mostly fine, but the door was crooked and hard to open. There were spaces in the door frame where you could literally see and hear outside and the door was crooked so it would scrape the floor as it opened. During the night, not only was the wind really loud, but we had to bring our sleeping bags in to keep warm because there was a thin blanket on the bed and the wind would blow through the cracks in the door frame making the cabin super cold. There was hair in some spots of the cabin, otherwise overall clean. The shower is super small. It was just right for me...a 4'11" girl. My boyfriend had a hard time with the spacing of it and he is your average height, not overweight guy. If you had a larger frame though, you would definitely have a hard time with this shower. Again, we were super thankful under circumstances to have this place to stay instead of our tent during the stormy weather, and with a few adjustments(cleanliness, door frame, and price), it would have been perfect. We recommend this as a last minute stay, especially since it was so close to the park.

Stained sheets, defective light switches with no smoke detector, balls of hair on the floor the beds haven’t been cleaned under since 1890 , noisy air conditioning fan , mattress box springs that would wake up the neighbors every time you rolled over , the list goes on not going back there again wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I liked

This hotel charged my credit card $700+ through a reservation made on hotels.com even though it was cancelled well before the deadline. I have tried calling their phone number over 30 times the past three weeks and no one ever answers. Do not trust this property or stay here.

Not very well explained ,to get the key need to go across the street to a different name hotel , no WiFi on the area and no password link in the room, need to ask to the people on the front desk , room was clean for sure ! A strong smell of pinesol! The bed was comfortable, we did close the AC because it was very noisy! And a continental breakfast was included

Like Melany, who stayed at this motel in July 2025, we've finally arrived! After reading her review, we were praying 🙏 that we wouldn't get cabin 18... and guess what? YES, YES, of all the unoccupied cabins on this September 13th, 2025, we were given KEY 18!!!!!! Bingo! The furniture is nice and typical. The bed is like my grandmother's: very high and not wide! And what's more, you can't move a muscle because the other person won't sleep a wink all night. An unreal noise? The fridge? No problem so far! Free Wi-Fi, apparently? Ah! Now, let's talk about the famous shower! 50 x 50 cm! And the palm tree, like all American hotels, EXCEPT that for a man of 1.80 m, great, but for a woman of 1.58 m, uhhhh! Snorkel and goggles, the jet of water in your face, hair included, and on top of that, it's so refreshing! 🥶🥶🥶🥶 We've stayed in 5 hotels from New York to Los Angeles, from Las Vegas to Death Valley, and this mini-shower is the most awful, especially after all the miles we've covered. We still have 4 more to go before the end of this trip! BUT... this is definitely worth it! Give it a try!!! 😉 👍😉
