Bryce Canyon Motel

Old-school budget motel, friendly staff, 25 miles to Bryce

Panguitch, UT

About

Bryce Canyon Motel is a small, independent property at 308 North Main Street in Panguitch, Utah — one of the older motels in town, with roots going back to the 1940s. It returned to operation in 1992 and has remained a bare-bones, budget-conscious choice for travelers who need a bed close to Bryce Canyon without paying resort prices. The park's main entrance is about 25 miles south via US-89 and UT-12.

Rooms

The motel has 7 rooms, making it one of the smaller lodging options in Panguitch. Each room includes air conditioning, a private bathroom, and outdoor seating with patio furniture. Select rooms have flat-screen TVs and kitchenettes, which are worth requesting if you're staying multiple nights and want to keep food costs down. Free on-site parking is available. Pets are allowed on request, though charges may apply.

What to Expect

This is a no-frills property — the age of the facilities is reflected in the rates, which run on the lower end for the area. Guests consistently mention the friendly, attentive ownership. If you're the type who spends most of your time outdoors and just needs a clean, quiet place to sleep, the Bryce Canyon Motel covers the basics. For travelers who need more amenities — pool, restaurant, or reliable in-room Wi-Fi — the larger properties along Center Street or closer to the park are better options.

Everything about this little place is amazing. It was built way back in 1940s and they built stuff right back then and it's right off the main road. The rooms are like triplex style and very very quiet. The bathroom is cute, it's just a small bathroom with shower and toilet, the shower is very nice with stone floor and the water never goes cold. There's a nice little TV, microwave and mini fridge. There's a sink with a large mirror, shampoo, soap, and lotion. There are several towels and washclothes. Even a washclothe specifically for makeup removal! ❤️ The beds are very comfy, they are very firm, but very comfy for me and mine. Best of all, our host. This lady does the office work is also the housekeeper and she takes pride in her work so the room is immaculate. It is so clean. You walk in and the first thing you notice, it smells and looks like it was professionally deep cleaned. There's an ice machine and drink vending machine and our host makes coffee every morning at 8am. The host here is just superbly amazing. We had a leaky tire and she was so helpful letting us use her air compressor and even letting us borrow her travel compressor for the day while we went to get it fixed, this was a life saver especially when our other tire got a puncture on the way to cedar tire shop too! Literally would have been stranded without her abundance of help. She's also very friendly and was happy to tell us about the area and some of the history of the town. Truly this is a really great place to stay and I can't even accurately say my level of gratitude and appreciation for our host.

We stayed at Bryce Canyon Motel during our road trip to Red Canyon Arch, and it turned out to be a great choice. Everything in the room worked perfectly, and it was very clean—no issues at all during our stay. Before arriving, I had called ahead and spoke with Tina. She remembered me when we got there, which made the check-in feel really personal. She was kind and welcoming from the start and gave us excellent service throughout. The day we got there, I asked if there was coffee available, and she had it ready by the morning, which we really appreciated before heading out for the day. Overall, we had a smooth, comfortable stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommend this place if you’re traveling through the area!
