Willow Creek Trail
A primitive creekside route through pinyon-juniper and aspen
About
The Willow Creek Trail (Forest Service Trail #32001, also signed as the Mineral/Willow Trail) is a primitive route in Dixie National Forest that follows Willow Creek from lower pinyon-juniper woodland up into oak and aspen stands at higher elevation. It's a separate route from the nearby Bear Valley/Willow Trail, though the two connect near the head of the Willow Creek drainage.
Good to know
- Managed by the Cedar City Ranger District, Dixie National Forest
- Open to hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding; closed to motorized vehicles
- Generally open Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather permitting
- No potable water or restroom at the trailhead — seasonal streams can be filtered
- Parking available at the BLM trailhead
This is forest-service backcountry rather than a groomed park trail, so expect a primitive tread and no signage beyond the trailhead marker. Dogs are generally fine here, a contrast with the leash and no-pets rules on trails inside Bryce Canyon National Park to the east.
