About
White Creek Trail (#34040) is a 2.4-mile day hike in the Escalante Ranger District of Dixie National Forest, reached off Forest Road 149 near the Barker Recreation Area west of Escalante. The trail follows White Creek for its first 1.8 miles before climbing away from the water and finishing with a steady, steeper mile up to a junction with the Griffin Point Trail at the edge of a long meadow.
Good to know
- Rated moderate to strenuous — the creekside start is easy going, but the final climb is real work
- Managed by the U.S. Forest Service, so expect the more permissive rules typical of Dixie National Forest trails (dogs generally fine, dispersed camping nearby)
- Connects into the Griffin Point Trail for hikers who want a longer loop or one-way option
