Day Hike
Trail To Serenity Natural Bridge
A remote arch off Hole-in-the-Rock Road

About
Serenity Natural Bridge sits in the Carcass Canyon Wilderness Study Area off Hole-in-the-Rock Road, about 20 miles southeast of Escalante — a distinct arch from the more-visited Escalante Natural Bridge north of town off Highway 12. Reaching it means driving the rougher Hole-in-the-Rock Road and then hiking several miles of unmaintained wash and canyon to the bridge itself, which is a real step up in commitment from the Highway 12 version.
Good to know
- No maintained trail — expect route-finding through wash bottoms and canyon terrain, not a marked path
- High-clearance vehicle recommended for Hole-in-the-Rock Road, more so after rain
- Don't confuse this with Escalante Natural Bridge, the shorter, easier hike off Highway 12 between Escalante and Boulder
- Carry your own water and navigation — this is backcountry GSENM, not a developed day-use site
