Tower Bridge

A twin-arch hoodoo reached from Sunrise Point

Bryce Canyon City, UT

About

Tower Bridge is a hoodoo formation with two natural arches and two standing towers, resembling its London namesake closely enough that the comparison sticks. It sits along the Tower Bridge Trail, reached from the Fairyland Loop's southern trailhead near Sunrise Point — the trail runs about 3.6 miles round trip with roughly 840 feet of elevation gain, taking most hikers 2 to 2.5 hours.

Trail details

  • Descends past Boat Mesa and through groves of bristlecone pine on the way to the viewpoint
  • Also passes views of the Chinese Wall and the Sinking Ship formations
  • Open year-round, though Fairyland Point Road closes in winter, cutting off vehicle access to the trailhead — snowshoes or traction devices are recommended if hiking in snow
  • Functions as a shorter, intermediate-distance alternative to hiking the full Fairyland Loop

As with all trails inside the park, pets aren't permitted, and hikers should carry water — there's little shade below the rim.
