The Cathedral

A hoodoo formation along Bryce's Peekaboo Loop

(0)
Bryce Canyon City, UT

About

The Cathedral is one of the named hoodoo formations along the Peekaboo Loop Trail, deep in the amphitheater below Bryce Point and Inspiration Point. It stands among a cluster of well-known formations on this stretch — the Wall of Windows, the Three Wisemen, and the Organ all sit along the same loop, and hikers pass The Cathedral as part of the broader tour of eroded pink and white limestone spires.

Getting there

  • Reached via the Peekaboo Loop, accessible from the Bryce Point, Sunset Point (via Navajo Loop), or Sunrise Point (via Queen's Garden) trailheads
  • The Peekaboo Loop is a moderate to strenuous below-the-rim hike with real elevation gain on the return climb
  • Horseback rides also travel this section of the loop in season

As with all below-the-rim trails inside Bryce Canyon National Park, pets aren't allowed, and hikers should carry water and expect full sun exposure with no shade until back near the rim.
