Sunset Point to Sunrise Point Hike

The easiest walk in the park, paved end to end

(0)
Bryce Canyon National Park, UT

About

The Sunset Point to Sunrise Point hike covers the one paved, fully accessible stretch of the Rim Trail, following the amphitheater's edge with views down into the hoodoo field the whole way. At roughly half a mile each way with benches spaced along it, it's the easiest walk in the park and one of the few trails where dogs on leash are allowed on the paved surface.

Good to know

  • About 1.2 miles round-trip with roughly 85 feet of elevation gain, typically 30-60 minutes
  • Fully paved and wheelchair accessible between the two points
  • Bryce Canyon Lodge sits roughly at the midpoint if you want a stopping point or a bathroom break
  • One of the only sections in the park where pets are permitted, on the paved surface only
  • Ride the shuttle back to your starting point if you'd rather not retrace your steps
