Strawberry Point

A short walk to a rim-edge view toward Zion

About

Strawberry Point is a short walk to one of the best views in this part of Utah — a lookout perched on the Virgin River Rim with the Pink Cliffs falling away below and Zion National Park visible in the distance. The path in from the parking and picnic area is barely a quarter mile, easy enough for nearly anyone, though the final stretch out to the very tip of the point runs along an exposed edge that deserves real caution, especially with kids along. Sunset here is a local favorite.

What to know

  • About 0.2 miles from parking to the viewpoint, easy grade, 30–60 minutes round trip
  • Steep, unfenced cliff edges at the point — keep a close hand on children
  • Access off Highway 14 near milepost 32, after turning off Highway 89
  • Restrooms and a loop parking area at the trailhead
  • Dixie National Forest (USFS) land — no permit required
