Ruby Rim Loop A Trail
A short trail with a real stretch of canyon rim

About
Ruby Rim Loop A (trail #33072A) is part of the Gateway trail system on Dixie National Forest land at the mouth of Bryce Canyon National Park, starting behind the Bryce View Lodge parking area. The route runs behind the historic Tropic Ditch and out to a stretch of the actual rim of Bryce Canyon - roughly a third of a mile directly on the rim before it drops back into ponderosa pine forest.
Trail character
- Flat riding with a few uneven sections, well suited to a first outing after arriving at elevation
- Connects to Ruby Rim Loop B and to Forest Service Road 30650A for longer forest-road loops
- Managed by USFS Dixie National Forest, Powell Ranger District - multi-use, expect equestrian traffic
The rim section is the payoff here - a rare spot to see Bryce Canyon's edge from outside the park boundary, on a trail built for mountain bikes as much as hikers.
