Round Willow Bottom Trail

Round Willow Bottom Trail (#34036) is a Dixie National Forest route in the Escalante Ranger District, running through mixed conifer and aspen forest and meadow to two reservoirs - Long and Round Willow Bottom. It's reached via Forest Road 149 (signed "Barker CG/North Creek Road"), off Highway 12 between Escalante and the North Creek Lakes area, continuing about 16.5 miles to the Upper Barker Reservoir parking area where the road ends.

Good to know

• Part of the larger Long & Round Willow Bottom Loop trail system
• Vault toilets at the trailhead, but no potable water - water is available at the reservoirs and nearby streams
• Round Willow Bottom itself is a small stocked reservoir (Brook Trout) popular with anglers, not just a hiking destination
• USFS-managed - dogs are generally fine and dispersed camping is common in this section of forest

This is quiet, forested high country rather than red-rock scenery - a good pick if you want a walk to a fishing lake without the crowds of the park itself.
