Prince Mountain

Prince Mountain is a forested summit in the Dixie National Forest backcountry near Panguitch Lake Resort, on the high plateau country between Panguitch Lake and the Markagunt Plateau to the west. It doesn't appear in Forest Service trail listings, hiking guides, or peak-bagging databases with any maintained route or trailhead — this is a named summit rather than a built hiking destination.

Terrain like this in the Dixie backcountry is typically reached cross-country through forest and sagebrush, and sees more use from hunters and OHV riders working the surrounding Forest Service roads than from hikers. If you want a documented summit hike in this same stretch of forest, Valentine Peak and Sidney Peak both have signed trails and mapped routes nearby.
