Day Hike

Pinks Trail

A half-mile stroll from camp to Pink Cliff

(0)
Duck Creek Village, UT

About

Pinks Trail runs about a half mile from the upper end of Te-Ah Campground out to Pink Cliff, a short enough walk that it works as an evening leg-stretcher rather than a planned outing. The path climbs gently through aspen before opening onto the pale pink Claron Formation rock that gives the cliff its name — the same rock that shows up at Cedar Breaks and Bryce Canyon, colored by the same iron and manganese staining.

What to know

  • About 0.5 miles one-way from Te-Ah Campground to the Pink Cliff overlook
  • Easy grade, suitable for most fitness levels
  • Trailhead is within Te-Ah Campground, roughly 4.5 miles off Highway 14 on Navajo Lake Road
  • Dixie National Forest (USFS) land — no permit required, dogs generally fine
  • Best Memorial Day through Labor Day, when the campground is open
