Noon Canyon Butte
A quiet neighbor to Mud Canyon Butte, seen from the rim trail

About
Noon Canyon Butte rises to about 8,468 feet in the backcountry south of Bryce Canyon's main amphitheater, near Swamp Canyon and its close neighbor Mud Canyon Butte. Like its neighbor, it's a real, named formation but not a standalone hiking destination — it's scenery viewed from the trail.
Where you see it
- Visible from the Swamp Canyon area and points along the Under-the-Rim Trail
- Grouped with Mud Canyon Butte as part of the eroding formations south of the amphitheater
- Framed by the park as an earlier stage of the same erosional process that carves Bryce's hoodoos further north
This sits within the national park boundary, so backcountry rules apply here — permits for overnight camping on the Under-the-Rim system, and no pets on the trails.
