Day Hike

Navajo/Peekaboo Combination Loop

Navajo and Peekaboo, without Queen's Garden added on

(0)
Bryce Canyon National Park, UT

About

The Navajo/Peekaboo Combination Loop links two of the amphitheater's steepest trails into what NPS describes as a mini figure-8: descend either side of Navajo Loop from Sunset Point, connect into the Peekaboo Loop, then climb back out via Navajo. It's a shorter, harder alternative to the full Figure-8 Combination for hikers who want Peekaboo's terrain without adding Queen's Garden to the day.

Good to know

  • 4.9 miles round-trip with about 1,581 feet of elevation change, typically 3-4 hours
  • Rated strenuous - two steep trails back to back, with real elevation gain on the return
  • Hike Peekaboo clockwise, as NPS recommends, for the best views of the Wall of Windows and to stay clear of horse and mule traffic in summer
  • Navajo Loop's Wall Street side has had closures in 2026 for trail work and storm damage - check current status and use Two Bridges as the fallback
  • Pets are not allowed on either trail
