Navajo Loop Trail

Switchbacks to the park's most famous hoodoo

(0)
Bryce Canyon National Park, UT

About

The Navajo Loop is Bryce's most photographed trail, dropping from Sunset Point through tight switchbacks between limestone walls to Thor's Hammer, the balanced hoodoo that's become the park's signature image. Two routes make up the loop: Wall Street, a narrow slot between towering rock walls, and Two Bridges, open year-round and the more forgiving option in winter or after storms.

Good to know

  • 1.3 miles round-trip with about 550 feet of elevation change, typically 1-2 hours
  • Rated moderate, though the switchbacks are steep both directions
  • Wall Street has seen repeated closures in 2026 for storm damage and trail stabilization work - check current NPS alerts before planning your route, and expect Two Bridges to be the reliable side
  • Combines easily with Queen's Garden or Peekaboo Loop for a longer outing
  • Pets are not allowed on this trail
