Mahogany Hill
An undocumented name on the Markagunt Plateau
(0)
About
Mahogany Hill is a name that turns up in Dixie National Forest data for the Duck Creek Village area, but it doesn't correspond to any maintained trail, trailhead, or documented viewpoint on Forest Service or topographic references for this part of the Markagunt Plateau. The "Mahogany" features that do exist on Utah topo maps — Mahogany Ridge and Mahogany Knoll — sit in different counties entirely, well outside the Duck Creek/Navajo Lake basin.
What to know
- No confirmed trailhead, distance, or elevation data exists for a Mahogany Hill near Duck Creek Village
- The surrounding terrain is typical Markagunt Plateau forest — mixed conifer and aspen at roughly 8,000–9,000 ft
- For a real, documented hike in this same area, look to the Navajo Lake Loop or Virgin River Rim Trail nearby
