Day Hike
Lower Podunk Trailhead
Riverside access point on the Sevier's East Fork
(0)
About
Lower Podunk Trailhead sits along the East Fork of the Sevier River in the Dixie National Forest, reached from Highway 12 via the East Fork/Tropic Reservoir road. It's one of the access points for trails threading this stretch of forest between Bryce Canyon and Panguitch.
What it connects to
- A route linking Lower Podunk through Willis Creek to Grandview at the Sheep Creek trailhead
- Used for hiking and mountain biking on interconnected Forest Service trails
- Near the Podunk Guard Station and campground along the river
This is Forest Service backcountry, not National Park land — expect a quieter, less signed trailhead than what you'd find at the main amphitheater trailheads in Bryce Canyon City, with more permissive dog and camping rules.
