Lodge Trail

The lakeside access route toward Andy Nelson Peak

(0)
Duck Creek Village, UT

About

Lodge Trail starts directly across the road from the Navajo Lake Lodge and boat ramp, off Highway 14 near Duck Creek Village, and serves as the main access route into the high country south of the lake — including the approach to Andy Nelson Peak and the Kane County High Point. It's less a scenic destination in its own right than a working access trail, the kind locals use as a starting point rather than a there-and-back hike.

Expect forest tread rather than a paved or heavily engineered path, climbing gradually as it leaves the lake basin. Camping is easy nearby at one of Navajo Lake's three campgrounds, making an early start straightforward if you're using this trail to reach the peaks beyond it. This is Dixie National Forest land, so dogs off-leash and dispersed use are common, unlike the more restrictive rules inside Bryce Canyon National Park itself.
