About

Little Mountain is a low summit in the Dixie National Forest backcountry east of Alton, in the high plateau country between Long Valley and the Paunsaugunt rim. It doesn't carry a maintained trail or trailhead sign, and turns up in mapping data as a named high point rather than a built hiking destination. Access, where it happens at all, is cross-country from forest roads in the area, favored more by hunters scouting the ridgelines than by day hikers.

There's no visitor infrastructure here: no marked route, no posted distance, no facilities. If you're exploring this part of the forest, treat it as open backcountry terrain rather than a destination trail, and check current Dixie National Forest road and travel conditions before heading out, since access routes in this area can wash out or drift shut with snow.
