Left Fork Alvey Wash Trail

An unmarked wash on the Kaiparowits Plateau's back side

(0)
Bryce Canyon City, UT

About

Alvey Wash drains the Kaiparowits Plateau country east of Escalante, upstream of Harris Wash, and the left fork is a minor tributary drainage within that system. It does not show up as a maintained, signed trail in Forest Service, BLM, or Grand Staircase-Escalante guidance, and no trailhead facilities or established route description are documented for it.

What's actually there

  • High-desert wash country on the Kaiparowits Plateau, wooded benches above red-rock cliffs
  • Reached, if at all, via Smoky Mountain Road rather than a dedicated trailhead
  • Best treated as cross-country wash walking for those comfortable with route-finding, not a marked hike

If you want a documented slot-and-wash hike in this same general country, Lick Wash and Park Wash to the south have an established route description and known hazards.
