Day Hike
Juliet's Balcony
A close-up detour among the hoodoos on the Navajo Loop
(0)
About
Juliet's Balcony is a small named stop along the Navajo Loop Trail in Bryce Canyon National Park, reached shortly after the initial descent from Sunset Point. It's a quick detour rather than a separate hike, and its appeal is proximity — you're standing at the same level as the hoodoos instead of looking down on them from the rim.
Why it's worth the detour
- Puts you just a few feet from the hoodoos, giving a sense of their true height and density that the plateau-top overlooks don't
- Sits along the Navajo Loop before it continues into Wall Street, the narrow slot-canyon-like passage the trail is best known for
- A short, low-commitment stop for anyone already hiking the Navajo Loop from Sunset Point
Since this is inside the national park, standard park rules apply — no pets on the trail, and be aware the Navajo Loop's steep switchbacks can ice over in winter. Afternoon monsoon storms from roughly July through September bring lightning risk on exposed sections nearby.
