Ipson Creek Circle

An unmarked creek drainage above Panguitch Lake

About

Ipson Creek is one of three small streams feeding Panguitch Lake, along with Blue Springs Creek and Clear Creek, in Dixie National Forest above the lake's south shore. Downstream, the creek drops over Ipson Creek Falls, an 80-foot waterfall reachable by a short UTV ride from the lake — but there's no marked, maintained hiking loop confirmed here matching a formal "circle" route.

What exists on the ground is unmarked terrain: steep, loose rock in places, no signed trail, and navigation that takes some route-finding rather than following a defined tread. It's a legitimate backcountry destination for people comfortable navigating off-trail with a map or GPS, not a casual walk-up waterfall stop. Forest Service rules apply here rather than park rules — dispersed camping and dogs are generally fine — and Leave No Trace matters more than usual given the lack of established trail infrastructure.
