Henderson Canyon Trail
An 8-mile canyon-bottom route with pioneer history

About
Henderson Canyon Trail is an 8-mile Dixie National Forest route that drops steeply from a Forest Service trailhead into Henderson Canyon before following the creek bottom the rest of the way to a BLM trailhead. It's a through-hike best done with a shuttle or two vehicles rather than an out-and-back.
Route notes
- Descends about 2.25 miles from the Forest Service trailhead to the canyon floor, then stays in the drainage, crossing Henderson Creek repeatedly
- Passes junctions with the Under the Point Trail (No. 051) at roughly 2.5 miles and Burro Canyon Trail (No. 007) at about 4.5 miles — the two can be combined into a 12-mile loop
- Crosses from national forest onto BLM land around mile 5, reaching the BLM trailhead near mile 8
This was once a route used by Mormon pioneers, and the canyon still has that historic, working-landscape feel. There are no reliable water sources along the way, so carry everything you'll need. As Forest Service singletrack, dogs are generally fine off national forest land, but bikes and OHVs are not permitted on this trail.
