Fairyland Loop Trailhead (South)
The Tower Bridge end of the Fairyland Loop
(0)
About
The south end of the Fairyland Loop connects at the Tower Bridge trailhead, on the Rim Trail just north of Sunrise Point, rather than at Sunrise Point itself. From here the route runs about 2.5 miles along the forested rim past Boat Mesa before dropping into the hoodoo country of Fairyland and Campbell Canyons on its way to the loop's north end at Fairyland Point.
Trailhead details
- Parking is available at Sunrise Point, though oversized vehicles aren't permitted there when the seasonal shuttle is running
- Sunrise Point is served by the park shuttle in season, making this end more accessible without a car than the Fairyland Point side
- The park suggests hiking counter-clockwise from here, meaning this end serves as the climb back up rather than the start
This trailhead also marks the start of the shorter Tower Bridge out-and-back, a popular below-rim option for hikers who want a taste of the canyon without committing to the full 8-mile loop.
