Day Hike

Fairyland Loop Trailhead (North)

The quiet north start of the Fairyland Loop

(0)
Bryce Canyon City, UT

About

The north end of the Fairyland Loop starts at Fairyland Point, the northernmost overlook on the park's rim, reached by a 1-mile spur road just south of the entrance station. From here the loop drops into Fairyland Canyon, where the hoodoos run younger and rawer-looking than the famous formations further south in the main amphitheater.

Trailhead details

  • Parking at Fairyland Point accommodates oversized vehicles, unlike the Sunrise Point lot at the loop's other end
  • No shuttle service reaches this trailhead — you need your own vehicle
  • The spur road closes to cars in winter, reserved instead for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing
  • The park recommends starting here and hiking counter-clockwise, saving the steeper Tower Bridge climb for the return

Fairyland Point itself is worth a stop even without hiking the full 8-mile loop — it's a quiet overlook onto Fairyland Canyon with none of the crowds of Sunrise or Sunset Point.
