Eagle View Trailhead - Bailey's Wash

Bailey's Wash is the trailhead for the Eagle View mountain bike trail through Escalante Petrified Forest State Park, on the north side of town. It's the only access point for that trail — the main park entrance near Wide Hollow Reservoir doesn't connect through, since private property sits in between. Riders use this lot to start the 3.4-mile technical singletrack loop.

What to know

• From the east end of Escalante, head north on N 300E past the elementary school and turn onto Pine Creek Lane to reach the trailhead
• Primarily a mountain bike access point rather than a hiking trailhead
• No facilities at the trailhead itself — fuel up and fill water bottles in town first
