Day Hike
Eagle View Trail
A technical singletrack ride through the petrified forest park
(0)
About
Eagle View is a purpose-built mountain bike trail through Escalante Petrified Forest State Park, not a hiking route — it's a flowy, technical singletrack about 3.4 miles long with steep, twisty, rocky sections that riders compare to Moab, minus the crowds. Access is only from the Bailey's Wash trailhead north of town; there's no entry from the main park entrance by Wide Hollow Reservoir since private property blocks that side.
What to know
- Built for mountain biking, with an expert-level layout in places — this is not a casual walking trail
- Reach it from the north end of Escalante via N 300E and Pine Creek Lane to the Bailey's Wash trailhead
- Popular with local and visiting riders looking for technical terrain outside the park's main hiking areas
