Don Spring Mountain
A high plateau summit above 9,000 feet.
About
Don Spring Mountain is a 9,091-foot peak in the Sevier Plateau range within Dixie National Forest, Kane County, not far from Alton. It sits on the USGS topo quad named for neighboring George Mountain, with a modest 315-foot prominence marking it as part of the same high-plateau massif rather than a standalone summit.
There's no documented maintained trail to the top — this is backcountry terrain reached by forest roads rather than a signed hike, typical of the high country between Bryce Canyon and the Sevier Plateau. Forest Service land here generally permits dogs and dispersed camping. Snow lingers into late spring at this elevation, so plan for a summer-to-early-fall visit and check current road conditions before heading in.
