Crawford Pass Trail
A ledge-top trail with Grand Staircase views.
About
Crawford Pass Trail #33047 runs 2.3 miles one-way through Dixie National Forest about 29 miles north-northeast of Kanab, dropping from roughly 8,600 feet to 8,440 feet with about 786 feet of accumulated elevation gain along the way. The trail travels above a band of pink ledges before gradually dropping below them, tracing the base of the cliffs down to the lower trailhead — with views out toward the Grand Staircase along the way.
Trail basics
- 2.3 miles one-way, open to hiking and horse riding
- Tent and trailer camping available at the trailhead
- Reached via East Fork Road and Crawford Pass Road off SR-12
This is Forest Service land, so dogs are generally allowed and dispersed camping is common in the area. High-elevation roads here can be rough or snowed in outside the summer season, so check current conditions before heading out.
