About

Cascade Falls Trail is an easy 1.1 to 1.2-mile round trip in Dixie National Forest, with well under 150 feet of elevation gain — roughly a 30-minute walk each way. The gravel path is lined with stairs and benches, and it meanders through pine forest along a cliff edge before ending at a viewing platform for the falls, where water that sinks into Navajo Lake reappears from a lava-tube cave partway up the cliff.

Trail basics

  • Distance: about 1.1–1.2 miles round trip; elevation gain under 150 feet
  • Surface: maintained gravel with occasional stairs
  • Season: typically late May through October, once snowmelt clears the access road
  • Views open toward the southern Markagunt Plateau and, on clear days, Zion National Park

The trailhead has a parking area and restrooms, with no fee to park. Since this is Forest Service land rather than National Park, dogs are commonly allowed on leash.
