About
Camp Eli Trail #33055 runs about 3.1 miles one-way through Dixie National Forest near Alton, open to hikers and horseback riders. Most of the route has been folded into the broader Grand View Trail network, and it carries some quiet history: this stretch of forest was used by sheep herders, and old water barrels and troughs from that era can still be found along the way.
Trail basics
- 3.1 miles one-way, hiking and horse riding only
- Connects into the Grand View Trail toward Black Butte
- Trailhead reached via East Fork Road and Blubber Creek Road off SR-12
This is Forest Service land, so dogs are generally fine and dispersed camping is common in the surrounding area. Roads in are unpaved forest routes, so check conditions before heading out, especially after storms.
