Welcome to Bryce Canyon Country Circle

The sign that tells you you've arrived in Bryce Canyon Country

About

The Welcome to Bryce Canyon Country Circle is a roadside landmark on UT-12 in Bryce Canyon City, about a mile north of the national park entrance road. It marks the threshold of the Bryce Canyon Country region — the informal name for Garfield County's tourism corridor — and serves as a natural orientation point and photo stop for visitors arriving from the north on Highway 12.

What It Is

The installation is a decorative traffic circle with a welcome sign set against the red rock and open sky characteristic of this stretch of UT-12. It's free to stop at any time — no entrance fee, no hours, just pull off. The surrounding area has the wide-open desert framing that makes even brief stops feel worthwhile in southern Utah.

Why People Stop

The circle shows up reliably in travel photos as an arrival marker — the kind of sign that signals you've reached a place rather than simply passed through it. UT-12 is itself a designated All-American Road, and this stretch approaching Bryce Canyon City offers some of the corridor's most open red-rock views before the pinyon-juniper forest closes in near the park entrance.

Practical Notes

There's no dedicated parking lot; visitors typically pull to the shoulder briefly for a photo. It's not a destination in its own right so much as a useful landmark for orienting: Ruby's Inn and the park entrance are a short drive south, and the canyon rim viewpoints are within a few miles. Worth a moment on the way in.

The canyon with the hoodoos is enchantingly beautiful! You can see photos, videos, and TV footage of this canyon, but they don't capture its true beauty and grandeur. You have to see it with your own eyes!
