About
This Turret Arch is a formation visible from the Mossy Cave Trail in Bryce Canyon National Park, near Tropic — not the far more famous Turret Arch in Arches National Park several hours away. Along the Mossy Cave Trail, a footbridge partway in is where the Turret Arch and the nearby Windows first come into view through the trees and cliffs to the west.
Good to know
- Seen from the trail, not reached directly — this is a viewing point, not a hike to the arch itself
- Mossy Cave Trail is an easy 0.9-mile out-and-back, about 20-25 minutes
- Trailhead is off Highway 12 between Bryce Canyon City and Tropic, roughly 7.5 miles from the visitor center
- Best visited March through November
The same short trail also passes Mossy Cave itself and ends at 20-foot Tropic Ditch Falls, so most visitors see the arch as one stop among several rather than a dedicated destination.
