Mamie Creek Natural Bridge
A creek-carved bridge deep off the Boulder Mail Trail
(0)
About
Mamie Creek Natural Bridge spans a tributary of Death Hollow in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, with the creek running directly beneath it and deep pools pooling on both sides. It sits about 0.8 miles down Mamie Creek from the Boulder Mail Trail, so reaching it means committing to that longer historic route rather than a short standalone walk. If water is flowing through the bridge, do not attempt to pass beneath it — the far side of the lower pool drops off in dangerous falls.
Good to know
- Reached via a spur off the Boulder Mail Trail between Escalante and Boulder — expect wading through pools along the creek
- The full route in is a long, hard day (around 15 miles round trip with side trips), better suited to strong hikers or an overnight
- Stop at the Escalante visitor center first — this is remote monument backcountry with no cell service
