Side-by-side UTV rentals in the pines, with a guide who actually knows every trail.

Duck Creek Village, UT

About

Duck Creek Village sits at 8,400 feet in the Dixie National Forest, about an hour from Cedar City and a solid day-trip option when you're touring the southern Utah parks. Duck Creek Adventures is the local UTV rental operation here, run by Mike, who knows these trails the way most people know their own neighborhood.

You can rent two-seaters or six-seat side-by-sides depending on your group size. Both come clean and well-maintained. Before you head out, Mike walks you through a trail map and points out the spots worth finding, including Mammoth Cave and the meadows where deer and antelope show up regularly. That kind of local knowledge makes a real difference when you're navigating a new trail system.

The setup is convenient. The rental location sits right next to the Polaris dealer and a gas station, so logistics are easy. Grab fuel, get your bearings, and go. The trails here run through dense ponderosa pine forest with wide-open meadow views, and the elevation keeps things cool even in midsummer.

If you're spending time at Bryce Canyon National Park or Cedar Breaks National Monument, Duck Creek Village is an easy detour on your way through. It's a different kind of southern Utah experience than the red rock canyon country, and the UTV trails here give you access to terrain you'd never see from a car. Worth building into a multi-day trip if you have the time.

This was hands down the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. A day prior I had gone to get a rough estimate and the owner mentioned he was the only individual UTV owner operator in the area and that he had the best pricing which I found out two days later to be false. Me and my family arrived while the obnoxious owner was eating, 2 hours before closing. We asked him for pricing and he seemed annoyed and commented “ are you guys going to rent or not because I want to eat my lunch”. We asked him if we would get a discount if we got 2 or 3 and then he went on complaining on why he shouldn’t give discounts. Then he went on about how some guys were doing donuts on his UTV and that he ended up suing them and how people have damaged his stuff while renting. I could care less I just came to rent a UTV and not hear some guy complain about how his business is struggling in the heat in front of my kids and family. He was eating and offered the kids french fries. To my kids innocence and not being able to read people. My kid ate the French fry. In my mind I thought for a moment that it was a kind gesture of him, little to my shortcoming it didn’t last long. This person (to be respectful) made a comment and said “he’s hungry you should feed him” I then thought to myself let’s cut to the chase and ask about renting so we could get out of here and asked him how much it cost to rent one of the Can-Ams. Instead of simply giving me the rental price, he responded, Buddy, do you know how much that’s worth?” I never asked what it was worth—I asked what it cost to rent. It came across as if he was trying to imply I couldn’t afford it instead of answering a simple question. The disrespect didn’t stop there. While we were listening to his rants we hesitated to rent from him and he rushed us to renting or to leave. He looked at my brother and sarcastically asked if he had “finished fifth grade.” As to why he wasn’t signing the waiver yet or watching the course. Throughout the entire conversation he kept making condescending remarks while complaining about how his business was struggling and aggressively going over every possible risk involved with renting, almost as if he was trying to convince us not to rent from him. Me and my other brother eventually stepped aside (the two guys with the beard) and talked about how irritating his comments and his attitude was towards us, right in front of our family. Keep in mind we handled this very well considering how his attitude was and us being on vacation. Despite everything, we stayed respectful, we were there with our children and the rest of our family. We never raised our voices or disrespected him once. Good thing you can carry in Utah and my hands are registered. Some people need to be humbled and need to learn how to respect others yet alone a family with kids on vacation. If you own a business that depends on customers, treating families this way is unacceptable. No one should have to endure insults, condescending comments, and nonstop complaining just to ask about rental prices. Needless to say, we took our business elsewhere. I would never recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly experience. Save yourself the frustration and find a business that actually values its customers.

Had a great time. Staff had great recommendations on where to go. Machine worked great (six seater). PS bring/borrow a flashlight for the caves if you are doing mammoth cave.

Awesome!! The owner even held my sleeping toddler while I moved car seats around. Even more so he retrieved my car so I wouldn’t have to walk far with the baby. Very nice! Definitely booking again when in town!

First time driving a side-by-side, and Mike made it an awesome experience with his kindness and guidance. Highly recommend the 4-hour tour to explore the Duck Creek area. Great adventure and beautiful scenery! 🚙🏔️😊

These guys really do have the best outdoor adventure equipment. We rented a side by side to fit our family of five and Mine made it simple, quick and yes, easy. Gave us ideas on where to visit and what to do in the time we had available. It was perfect. Kids loved it and my wife and I loved it. Thanks Mike and Trevor!! Perfect day!
