Burgers, fries & shakes are the draw at this fast-food-style eatery with an old-school vibe.
Henrie's Hideout — also known locally as Henrie's Drive-In — has been a fixture on Main Street in Panguitch since 1957. It's the kind of no-frills fast-food stop that travelers coming off the road actually want: hand-pattied burgers, crispy fries, and real milkshakes, served quickly and without pretense. Panguitch sits about 25 miles north of Bryce Canyon, making it a common refueling town for visitors heading to or from the park.
The menu centers on burgers and American fast-food staples. The Chubby Cheese is the signature burger — a hand-formed patty with cheese and standard fixings. Onion rings get consistent praise from regulars, and the shakes are made with real ingredients rather than mix. Combo meals pair a burger or corn dog with fries and a drink. It's family-owned and operated, which shows in the consistency of the food.
The vibe is old-school diner — a bit retro, unpretentious, and popular with both locals and park-bound travelers. Don't expect table service or a long menu; the appeal is the quality within a very focused range of food. If you're passing through Panguitch mid-afternoon between park visits and need something fast and satisfying without driving to a chain in Cedar City, Henrie's fills that gap well. Cash and cards accepted; call ahead at (435) 616-2355 to confirm current hours, as they can vary by season.

Really enjoyed the jalapeño burger that was listed as a special menu item. The shoestring fries were yummy with their fry sauce. And the shake was out of this world creamy and delicious! We chatted with a few of the employees who were very kind.
